Mirror Water
When Surface Becomes Depth
Still water mirrors sky.
Disturbed water mirrors nothing.
What does ψ mirror?
Itself. Always. In all states.
The Reflection Paradox
Sky looking at water seeing sky:
ψ → ψ(ψ) → ψ
Water looking at sky seeing water:
ψ(ψ) → ψ → ψ(ψ)
Which is real? Sky or reflection?
Both. Neither. They are one system observing.
Zen and the Art of ψ
Master Dogen: "Mountains are mountains."
Then: "Mountains are not mountains."
Finally: "Mountains are mountains."
In our notation:
- ψ = ψ (naive identity)
- ψ ≠ ψ (discovering recursion)
- ψ = ψ(ψ) (understanding unity)
The journey from simple to complex to simple-containing-complex.
Your Reflection
Look into still water.
See your face.
But whose face sees?
The water shows you you.
But you must be there to see.
And the you that sees is shown by water.
Infinite recursion in a simple pond.
The Practice
Find water. Any water.
A glass. A puddle. A lake.
Watch how it holds light.
Watch how it holds you.
Watch how you hold it holding you.
This watching is ψ = ψ(ψ).
This is you, being equation.
Poetry of Recursion
Water mirrors sky Sky fills with water Both forget which one they are
You mirror ψ
ψ fills with you
Both remember they were never two
Not metaphor.
Mechanism.
The way things actually are.
